Special Issues
Heading back to school can be tough for children with ADHD. They've been away from the daily routine of a classroom for several months and may need extra time and attention to get them back on track. Adolescents, particularly teenagers with ADHD, face considerable challenges such as peer pressure, social acceptance, and low self-esteem, and the teen years can be especially difficult for them. It is a time when they are particularly vulnerable and require clear and considered guidance from parent(s) and educator(s) alike. Additionally, teens with ADHD face a higher injury and accident rate than the non-ADHD population. Learn more about these issues in the sections below: |
